The Ponta do Sol municipality has signed a program-contract to grant 1,500 euros to the Madeira Athletics Association for the organization of the 'Circuito da Madalena do Mar - Ponta do Sol' road race.
The Ponta do Sol Municipal Council has signed Contract No. 142/2026 with the Madeira Autonomous Region Athletics Association, granting financial support of 1,500 euros for the realization of the "Circuito da Madalena do Mar - Ponta do Sol" road race, which took place on August 30, 2026.
The program-contract, signed on August 21, aims to ensure the safety, logistics, and organization conditions for the event, considered one of the most emblematic road races in the Region. The support is intended to cover expenses for trophies, medals, timing services, judging, sound system, and photographic coverage.
The municipality justifies the support due to the event's importance for promoting the municipality's image and for stimulating local sports. The Athletics Association has committed to referencing the support and displaying the official Municipal Council coat of arms on all event promotional materials.
The Regional Government has authorized the renewal of a rental contract for a service room at the Porto Santo Congress Center, for a total amount of 2,512.80 euros.
The Government Council approved the document detailing the implementation of the Autonomous Region of Madeira's Investment and Development Expenditure Plan and Programme for 2025.
