The Regional Government Council authorized the renewal of the lease for the Santana Finance Service and the termination of the cafeteria contract at the Pico dos Barcelos viewpoint.
The Regional Government of Madeira made two distinct decisions regarding public property lease contracts, one for renewal and another for termination.
Regional Government Council Resolution No. 803/2026 authorizes the renewal for another year of the lease contract housing the Santana Finance Service. The space, located in the Santana Civic Center, will continue to be leased to SDNM - Sociedade de Desenvolvimento do Norte da Madeira, S.A.. The new lease period runs from September 1, 2026, to August 31, 2027, ensuring the continuity of public tax services in that municipality.
In the opposite direction, Regional Government Council Resolution No. 805/2026 authorizes the termination, by mutual agreement, of the lease contract for the commercial space intended for a cafeteria at the Pico dos Barcelos viewpoint. The tenant, the company Delicious Sunset, Lda., requested the termination of the contract, considering the continuation of commercial activity unsustainable. The space must be handed over to the Autonomous Region of Madeira by August 14, 2026, free of people, goods, burdens, and charges, thus becoming available for a future tender or new use.
