Graduate Bella Karina de Olim Freitas has been appointed, on a secondment basis, to lead the Viticulture Division of the Madeira Wine, Embroidery and Handicrafts Institute.
The Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries, Nuno Dinarte de Gouveia Maciel, has appointed a new director for the Madeira Wine, Embroidery and Handicrafts Institute (IVBAM, IP-RAM). The appointment results from a public competitive procedure.
Through Order No. 283/2026, Bella Karina de Olim Freitas was appointed to the position of Head of the Viticulture Division at IVBAM, a second-level intermediate management position.
The appointment is made on a secondment basis for a period of three years and takes effect from the date of the order. Bella Karina de Olim Freitas holds a degree in Agronomic Engineering and in Biology (scientific branch) and is a senior technician on the IVBAM staff map.
Her curriculum, attached to the order, reveals extensive experience in the viticulture area. Previously, she had served as Head of the same Division between 2006 and 2025 and, more recently, was acting in the role on a substitution basis. She is a member of the Order of Technical Engineers and holds several specialized certifications, including WSET training in wines and spirits.
