Manuel José Faria de Aguiar has been appointed, on a one-year secondment, to the position of Director of Direct Aid Services at the Regional Directorate for Agriculture and Rural Development.
Order No. 290/2026 from the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Fisheries appoints Eng. Manuel José Faria de Aguiar, a Senior Technician at that regional secretariat, to the position of Director of Direct Aid Services at the Regional Directorate for Agriculture and Rural Development (DRA). The appointment is made on a one-year secondment basis, effective from July 13, 2026.
The position, created by Ordinance No. 246/2026, is a first-level intermediate management role and was vacant. The Directorate of Direct Aid Services is responsible for managing processes related to direct financial aid from the European Union for farmers, agri-industries, and operators in the commercial sector of agricultural and agri-food goods, as well as the Agricultural Parcel System.
Manuel José Faria de Aguiar holds a degree in Agronomic Engineering - Horticulture and Fruit Growing branch and has worked at the DRA since 2009, having served as Head of the Incentive Systems Division since 2020. The order highlights his "technical competence and aptitude for the exercise of management, coordination, and control functions," as well as more than six years of relevant professional experience.
