Regional Government approves report on Madeira's participation in the European Union in 2025
The Regional Government Council, meeting in plenary session on March 19, 2026, formalized the approval of the annual report regarding the participation of the Autonomous Region of Madeira in the European Union integration process, covering the 2025 fiscal year.
This measure, formalized through Regional Government Council Resolution No. 120/2026, fulfills the duty of accountability and transparency stipulated by Regional Legislative Decree No. 23/96/M of September 4, as amended by Regional Legislative Decree No. 16/2017/M of June 4.
The document in question has the following fundamental objectives:
- To clarify the Region's monitoring of the European Union integration process;
- To identify the deliberations of European institutions with the greatest impact and relevance for the Madeiran territory;
- To analyze the positions adopted by the national and regional governments regarding these decisions;
- To evaluate the concrete measures implemented by both levels of government as a result of these deliberations.
Following this approval, the Regional Secretary of Finance was tasked with formally submitting the report to the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, thereby ensuring parliamentary scrutiny of the Region's European strategy.
