Ponta do Sol Municipality Supports Madeira Rally 2026 with 3,500 Euros

Published in JORAM, Contract No. 194/2026 was signed between the Municipal Council of Ponta do Sol and Club Sports da Madeira, the organizing entity of the Madeira Rally. The program contract aims to define logistics and financial cooperation for the 2026 edition of the event in the municipality.

The main points of the agreement are:

• The Municipal Council provides financial support amounting to 7,500.00 € (seven thousand five hundred euros) to cover expenses related to policing, firefighters, and human resources for setting up two Special Classification Stages (PEC) in the municipality.
• The municipality commits to providing human resources and equipment for cleaning and setting up the PECs and to participate in the event's environmental sustainability policy through the placement of recycling bins and awareness-raising actions.
• Club Sports da Madeira is responsible for making direct payments to firefighters and other human resources, contributing to security expenses, and providing timely information on routes and logistical needs.

The event, part of the European Rally Trophy and the Portuguese Rally Championship, takes place between July 30 and August 1, 2026. The contract is valid until August 1, 2026.
