Seixal Naval Club receives up to €37,000 for active tourism events
The Regional Government has approved up to €37,000 in funding for Seixal Naval Club to organise the Canyoning Madeira Meeting and the Mountain Bike Madeira Meeting. The funding will be paid in two instalments between 2026 and 2027.
Seixal Naval Club may receive a financial contribution of up to €37,000 to carry out the “Promotion Events 2026” project, which includes two active tourism events on Madeira’s north coast. The authorisation is set out in Regional Government Council Resolution No. 928/2026, approved at a plenary meeting on 24 September 2026.
- Canyoning Madeira Meeting: scheduled for 18 to 23 October, with a contribution of €30,000.
- Mountain Bike Madeira Meeting: scheduled for 8 to 15 November, with a contribution of €7,000.
The funding will be paid in two instalments: 70% in 2026, amounting to €25,900, and the remaining 30% in 2027, amounting to €11,100. The resolution authorises the signing of a programme contract, effective from the date of signature until 30 June 2027.
According to the resolution, the events aim to promote and publicise Madeira, particularly as a destination for active tourism. The Government considers that they can help boost and decentralise the regional tourism offering and showcase the territory, in line with the Madeira Tourism Strategy 2022-2027.
