The Santo da Serra Golf Club will organize a tournament commemorating the 50 years of Madeira's Autonomy, with significant financial support from the Regional Government.
The Regional Government will provide financial support for the "50 Years of Autonomy Tournament", a golf event promoted by the Santo da Serra Golf Club. The tournament is scheduled to take place between October 1st and 4th.
Through Resolution of the Regional Government Council No. 813/2026, the signing of a tourism development and cooperation protocol was authorized, granting a financial contribution not exceeding 145,000.00 €.
The event aims to boost the golf tourism segment, attract high-spending visitors, increase overnight stays in the region, and reduce seasonality. The project is associated with the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of Autonomy and intends to strengthen Atlantic cooperation between Madeira, the Azores, and the Canary Islands.
The company Circo Mundial Mariani has applied for a license to occupy an 11,699 m² area near Cais 8, between November 2026 and January 2027.
The Regional Government will financially support the "2026 Grape Harvest Festival" and the "XIX Super Trial São Vicente Madeira", two events that are part of the region's tourism promotion calendar.
The Madeira Regional Sailing Association will organize two nautical events in September and October, with regional financial support that can reach 76,250 euros.
