Sailing Association receives 76 thousand euros for Atlantic Nautical Festival
The Madeira Regional Sailing Association will organize two nautical events in September and October, with regional financial support that can reach 76,250 euros.
The Regional Government will financially support the "Atlantic Nautical Festival", an initiative by the Madeira Regional Sailing Association that includes two emblematic events in the Region's sports and tourism calendar.
The support, approved by Resolution of the Regional Government Council No. 681/2026, will be formalized through a development and cooperation protocol within the scope of tourism promotion and animation. The total amount of the financial contribution will not exceed 76,250.00 € (seventy-six thousand, two hundred and fifty euros).
The project materializes in two events celebrating the 50 Years of Regional Autonomy:
- "Colombos Cup-Madeira Sailing Schools Trophy / 50 Years of Autonomy", with specific support of 42,100.00 €. This event will take place on September 18 and 19, 2026.
- "VelaMadeira Tournament / 50 Years of Autonomy", with specific support of 34,150.00 €. This event is scheduled for October 3 and 4, 2026.
The protocol, which will take effect from the date of signing until December 30, 2026, will be granted by the Regional Secretary for Tourism, Environment and Culture and the Regional Director of Tourism. The goal is to promote Madeira as a nautical tourism destination, strengthen the blue economy, and enrich the regional tourism offer.
