Government approves fireworks location plan for New Year's Eve

Resolution No. 657/2026 defines the location of the launch sites for the December 31st pyrotechnic show, a central element of the Region's tourism program.

The distribution of the sites is as follows:

• Funchal City:
  • Funchal Amphitheatre: 27 sites (numbered 1.1 to 1.27), including locations such as Fortim do Lido, Ponta Gorda Bathing Complex, Praia Formosa, Botanical Garden, and Pináculo Viewpoint.
  • Funchal Waterfront: 25 sites (numbered 2.1 to 2.25) between Cais 8 and the Almirante Reis Beach piers.
  • Sea: 5 sites (numbered 3.1 to 3.5), with 3 south of the Molhe da Pontinha and 2 between Cais 8 and Lazareto.
• Porto Santo Island (Vila Baleira): 2 sites (4.1 Portela Viewpoint and 4.2 Cais Velho).
