Madeira has reduced the eligible amount for the conservation and renovation project at Lar de São Francisco to €792,755.55 and changed how costs are allocated between 2025 and 2026. Funded by the PRR, the project will refurbish 38 places and improve the building’s energy efficiency.
The eligible amount for Project 8908 - the Conservation and Renovation Project at Lar S. Francisco - has been reduced from €893,214.51 to €792,755.55. The change is set out in Ordinance No. 593/2026, which amends Ordinance No. 630/2024 of 15 November.
The revision followed a request to reprogramme the funding submitted by the final beneficiary, the Centro Social e Paroquial da Sagrada Família. According to the ordinance, the update aligns the approved investment with the amounts actually spent and changes the project’s physical and financial schedule.
The costs will now be allocated as follows:
The project is funded under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and aims to conserve and renovate the home, a building constructed in 2007 that houses a residential care facility for older people and a day centre. The work includes improvements to the building’s performance and energy efficiency and will refurbish 38 places, with the aim of providing older people with better conditions for well-being and safety.
Madeira’s Institute of Social Security may take on €735,676.20 in costs between 2026 and 2029 to renew its agreement with Mão Solidária. The funding will support the operation of food assistance for people in need.
The Regional Directorate for Sport has awarded Barreirense Sports Club funding of up to €6,265.04 to take part in regional football and futsal competitions in the 2025/2026 season. Payment depends on submitting eligible expenses and meeting the obligations set out in the agreement.
Afonso Jardim Serrão, João Dinis Vieira Nascimento, Agostinho Manuel Dias Órfão and Avelino José Jardim Câmara won gold medals at the 2026 ICF Ocean Racing World Cup Stage 1. The Regional Government publicly commended the athletes and the organisations involved in their achievements.
