Regional Government allocates over 200 thousand euros to social projects

Two program contracts approved to support social inclusion and professional development projects in Madeira.

The Regional Government Council authorized the signing of two program contracts that allocate financial support to social projects in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. The resolutions, approved in plenary on August 27, 2026, are intended to co-finance initiatives that promote social inclusion, active aging, and professional qualification.

The supported projects are as follows:

  • Project Bem Cuidar 2026 by Causa Social - Association for the Promotion of Citizenship, through Regional Government Council Resolution No. 837/2026, with a maximum financial support of €103,350.00. The project aims at the technical capacity building and well-being of approximately 540 home helpers working in Private Social Solidarity Institutions and the Madeira Social Security Institute, IP-RAM (ISSM, IP-RAM). It includes certified training in first aid and prevention of maltreatment, social gatherings, and support for the purchase of professional footwear.
  • Project "Ao Encontro da Natureza" 2026 by ASA - Association for the Development of the Parish of Santo António, through Regional Government Council Resolution No. 838/2026, with a maximum financial support of €100,000.00. This initiative promotes social inclusion and active aging, providing outings and socio-cultural activities on the islands of Madeira and Porto Santo for the elderly and families in vulnerable situations, including environmental awareness actions.

The program contracts are effective until December 31, 2026, and the support will be paid in a single installment after their signing.
