The municipality signed a program contract to financially support the 15th Madalena do Mar Canoe Regatta, organized by the Madeira Regional Canoeing Association.
The Ponta do Sol Municipal Council has signed Contract No. 140/2026, a program contract for granting financial support worth 4,500.00 € to the Madeira Regional Canoeing Association. The support is intended for the organization of the 15th Madalena do Mar Canoe Regatta.
The contract, signed on April 21, 2026, stipulates that the amount will be transferred in a single installment after its signing. The funds are allocated in the municipal budget for 2026. The sports association assumes responsibility for managing and applying the funds, committing to prominently include the municipality's coat of arms on all event promotional materials.
The aim of the support is to foster the development of the sport in Madeira and Porto Santo, promoting the participation of canoeists, technicians, and the general community.
The Government Council authorized a program-contract to financially support the 2026 activity plan of the Social Solidarity Association Crescer Sem Risco.
The Regional Secretariat for Health and Civil Protection approved the internal redistribution of 420,000 euros in financial support to the Madeira Volunteer Firefighters Humanitarian Association across three support programmes.
