Government awards financial support to livestock cooperative and animal protection association
Two civil society entities will each receive financial support of 10,000 euros through programme contracts signed with the Regional Government.
The Regional Government approved the signing of two programme contracts to provide financial support to a livestock breeders' cooperative and an animal protection association. The decisions were made in a plenary session of the Council of the Government on July 9, 2026.
The support, with a maximum value of 10,000 euros for each entity, aims to support their activities during the year 2026. The beneficiaries are:
- Livestock Breeders' Cooperative of the Serras da Freguesia da Santa do Porto Moniz e Achadas da Cruz, C.R.Lda. (Tax ID 511 026 498) via Resolution of the Regional Government Council No. 668/2026. The programme contract has retroactive effect from January 1, 2026 and supports activities within the scope of orderly grazing and environmental protection.
- Animal Defence Association - MAS - Madeira Sanctuary (Tax ID 515 480 886) via Resolution of the Regional Government Council No. 669/2026. The support is intended to cover expenses for actions and acquisitions planned within the scope of animal protection, taking effect from the date of signing the contract.
In both cases, the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries was mandated to sign the contracts on behalf of the Autonomous Region of Madeira. The expenses are budgeted in the Region's Budget for 2026.
