Madeiran Youth Association approves new statutes

The Regional Secretariat for Inclusion, Labour and Youth, through Order no. 239/2026, has officially published the new statutes of the Madeiran Youth Association (AJMC). The amendment, approved at the General Assembly on February 5, 2026, reflects a new strategic vision for the organization.

Key updates include:

  • Corporate Purpose: Reinforced focus on supporting the academic, professional and social journey of students and young professionals, promoting skills and civic participation.
  • Attributions: Inclusion of new areas of activity, such as financial and business literacy, sustainable development, digital and ecological transition, and the promotion of international opportunities through exchanges and volunteering.
  • Internal Structure: The Board will now consist of an odd number of members (up to 11), with a mandatory minimum representation of 25% of each gender.
  • Specialized Departments: Formal creation of competencies for members responsible for the departments of Communication and Image, Training and Development, Human Resources and Corporate Relations.
  • Financial Management: Establishment of new rules for expenses not provided for in the budget, requiring an opinion from the Supervisory Board for amounts exceeding 20% and approval at the General Assembly for amounts exceeding 35%.

The AJMC, based at Caminho dos Serrões, no. 85, in Estreito da Calheta, reaffirms its commitment to fostering cooperation networks between young people, public and private institutions, and the Madeiran business sector.
