The Autonomous Region of Madeira mobilizes 18 search and rescue specialists to support Venezuela following the June 24 earthquakes.
Following the high-magnitude earthquakes that struck the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on June 24, 2026, the Regional Government of Madeira authorized, through Resolution no. 648/2026, the deployment of a specialized team from the Regional Operational Response Device (DROR) to provide humanitarian aid.

The mission, with an estimated duration of 12 days, aims to integrate the national contingent coordinated by the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection. The Regional Government authorized a maximum expenditure of €100,000.00 to cover logistics, medical, transport, and insurance costs associated with this international solidarity operation.
