The Regional Government has revoked support for the Funchal Kick-Boxing Club and authorized a new program contract with the Funchal Karate Club.
The Regional Government Council has made changes to the support for sports associations through Resolutions no. 470/2026 and no. 471/2026:
The support for CKDF - Funchal Karate Club takes effect from the date of its signing and ends on December 31, 2026, with the expense covered by the Regional Directorate of Sports budget.
Danilo José Moniz Ferreira received a public commendation for winning the bronze medal with the national team at the 2026 Wheelchair Handball World Championship. The coach represents Clube Naval Setubalense.
Ivone de Fátima Silva has been honoured by the Regional Government after winning two bronze medals at international paragliding competitions. The commendation also recognises her club, the Jardim da Serra Cultural and Sports Association.
Fourteen associations and informal youth groups will receive funding through the Social Innovation and Transformation Programme. The total maximum grant is €35,673.65, allocated across 2026 and 2027.
