The Regional Government has authorized a program contract to support the maintenance and operation of the Monastery of the Poor Clares in Câmara de Lobos.
Through Resolution no. 475/2026, the Regional Government of Madeira has authorized the signing of a program contract with the Monastery of the Poor Clares of Our Lady of Piedade da Caldeira, located in the municipality of Câmara de Lobos. The financial support, which aims to subsidize the costs of regular operation and maintenance of the space, has a maximum value of €6,120.00.
The amount will be distributed in four annual installments of €1,530.00, covering the period between 2026 and 2029. This measure recognizes the importance of the Monastery as cultural and religious heritage of high interest to the Autonomous Region of Madeira, being fundamental for its preservation and the revitalization of the local community.
The Regional Secretariat for Inclusion, Labor and Youth will be the entity responsible for processing the file and signing the contract, ensuring the necessary monitoring to safeguard this identity element of the region.
The municipality signed a program contract to financially support the 15th Madalena do Mar Canoe Regatta, organized by the Madeira Regional Canoeing Association.
