Government ensures continuity of Câmara de Lobos nursing home
The Madeira Social Security Institute has renewed the cooperation agreement with the Living Care Association to ensure the operation of the Câmara de Lobos nursing home.
Through Resolution no. 223/2026, the Regional Government authorized the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Living Care Association, aiming to guarantee the continued operation of the Câmara de Lobos Nursing Home. This measure ensures the provision of care to 60 residents in a Residential Structure for the Elderly (ERPI).
The agreement, which has retroactive effects to October 1, 2025, and remains in force until September 30, 2026, includes:
- Monthly financial contribution based on a standard value per resident of €1,046.31 (moderate dependency).
- Increase of €319.76 per month/resident.
- Total investment of €983,570.40 for the current fiscal year.
The decision is justified by the need to avoid service disruption while the tender procedure for the future management of the facility is underway.
