The capacity of the elderly support establishment was formally increased after modernization works financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
Dispatch No. 348/2026 from the Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Labour and Youth officially changed the capacity of the Nossa Senhora do Bom Caminho Establishment.
This change results from capacity expansion and modernization works carried out under the investment PRR-RE-C03-i03-RAM - Strengthening Social Responses, integrated into the Recovery and Resilience Plan. Following a technical reassessment, the Madeira Social Security Institute, IP-RAM, concluded that the establishment meets the conditions to accommodate more users.
The new maximum capacity set is as follows:
In total, the establishment will now have 72 places, a significant increase from the previous capacity of 9 places in the residential home and 30 in the day centre. The dispatch takes effect the day after its publication.
The Regional Health Secretariat authorized an increase of nearly 93,000 euros in the budget for the requalification of integrated long-term care units, raising the total amount to over 4.4 million euros.
