Madeira reallocates €1.279 million for emergency department works at Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital

The Regional Government has split the costs of the first phase of improvements to the Emergency Department at Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital between 2026 and 2027. The total investment is €1,279,000, plus VAT.

The Regional Government has reallocated the budget costs for the first phase of improvement works to the Emergency Department at Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital. The total amount is €1,279,000, plus VAT at the applicable legal rate.

Ordinance No. 581/2026 changes the financial schedule previously approved by Ordinance No. 80/2026 of 4 March for the procedure “DR. NÉLIO MENDONÇA HOSPITAL - EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT IMPROVEMENTS - PHASE 1”, case No. 40/2025.

  • 2025: €0;
  • 2026: €639,636.56;
  • 2027: €639,363.44.

The ordinance allows the annual amounts to be increased by any balances recorded in the previous year. The 2026 allocation is covered by the Budget of the Autonomous Region of Madeira; the 2027 share will be included in the region’s budget proposal for that year.
