Government approves expansion of Quinta Funchal Gardens development
The alteration and expansion project for the Quinta Funchal Gardens hotel has been approved, allowing capacity to increase to 121 accommodation units.
The Regional Government Council, through Resolution no. 555/2026, has determined the feasibility of the alteration and expansion project for the Quinta Funchal Gardens tourist development (formerly Hotel Quinta das Vistas Funchal), located in Funchal. The promoting company, Bqvistas Madeira, Lda., has obtained authorization to increase the hotel's fixed capacity to a maximum of 121 accommodation units, corresponding to 242 beds.
The expansion project includes:
- An increase of 50 accommodation units (100 additional beds);
- Creation of 144 parking spaces;
- Integration of two à la carte restaurants, a 105 m² auditorium, a gym, an outdoor pool, and a 123 m² Spa area;
- Preservation of 5,796.28 m² of green spaces.
The approval was made possible under the exceptional regime provided for in the Tourism Planning Program of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (POT-RAM), given the qualifying nature of the investment for the regional tourism offer.
