Regional Government approves 15,000 euros for 2026 International Bridge Open
The Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Environment and Culture and the Regional Secretariat for Finance have authorized 15,000 euros in support for the Madeira Bridge Association to host the international event in 2026.
The Regional Government of Madeira has approved, through Ordinance No. 427/2026, the distribution of budgetary charges for the signing of a Programme-Contract with the Madeira Bridge Association. The support, totalling €15,000, is intended for the "2026 International Bridge Open" project.
The amount will be distributed across the financial years 2026 and 2027. For the current year, an allocation of €10,500 is planned, while the remaining €4,500 will be included in the budget proposal for 2027. The ordinance also establishes that the annual amount may be increased by the balance carried forward from the previous year.
This financial support aims to assist in hosting an international sporting event in the Region, promoting the practice of bridge and its impact on tourism and local culture. The ordinance came into force the day after its publication, on 2 September 2026.
