Regional Government Supports Theatre Production and Philharmonic Band with 5,000 Euros Each
The Government Council approved two financial grants of 5,000 euros each for cultural projects: one for the production of a theatre play and another for the operation of a philharmonic band.
The Regional Government of Madeira approved, in the same session on August 27, the allocation of two financial grants worth 5,000 euros each to cultural associations in the Region. The decisions aim to foster artistic production and ensure the continuity of foundational cultural activities.
The grants were formalised through two distinct resolutions, both published in the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of Madeira on September 1, 2026.
Details of the Approved Grants
- Cultural Association 4litro via Resolution of the Regional Government Council No. 844/2026: Authorised the signing of a cultural development and cooperation protocol for the production and presentation of 3 sessions of the theatre play "The World Is Becoming an Artificial Stupidity" in 2026. The maximum support is €5,000.00 and the protocol will be in force until December 31, 2026.
- Municipal Band Association of Ribeira Brava via Resolution of the Regional Government Council No. 845/2026: Authorised the signing of a programme-contract to ensure the normal operation of the association during the year 2026, covering ordinary expenses related to its activity, facilities, personnel, and equipment. The maximum support is €5,000.00 and the contract takes effect retroactively from January 1, 2026.
Both measures fall within the remit of the Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Environment and Culture and the Regional Directorate of Culture, aiming at cultural decentralisation, the promotion of Madeiran cultural identity, and support for initiatives that boost the cultural offering in the Region.
