The Regional Government Council approved cooperation agreements and financial support for three cultural initiatives, including an international mandolin festival and a theatre play.
The Regional Government of Madeira approved, in a plenary session on July 15, the allocation of financial support to three cultural associations for the implementation of specific projects in 2026. The decisions were formalised through resolutions of the Regional Government Council, which authorise the signing of cultural development and cooperation agreements.
The supported projects aim to promote Madeiran musical tradition, theatre, and cultural decentralisation, aligning with the priorities of the government programme for culture. The support is granted under Regional Legislative Decree No. 25/99/M and Ordinance No. 79/2001, which regulate funding for projects of cultural interest.

The agreements take effect from the date of their signature until December 31, 2026.
The Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Environment and Culture and the Regional Secretariat for Finance have authorized 15,000 euros in support for the Madeira Bridge Association to host the international event in 2026.
The Government Council approved two financial grants of 5,000 euros each for cultural projects: one for the production of a theatre play and another for the operation of a philharmonic band.
Banda Recreio Camponês receives 4,000 euros in support to hold four philharmonic music concerts in the municipality of Câmara de Lobos by the end of 2026.
