The Regional Government Council rectified the description of medals won by Madeiran athletes at the XXIX Yonex 2026 Pan-American Individual Championships.
The Regional Government of Madeira has issued a resolution to correct an inaccuracy in the description of achievements by Madeiran athletes at an international badminton event.
Through Regional Government Council Resolution No. 809/2026, of August 13, 2026, Regional Government Council Resolution No. 463/2026, of April 30, was rectified. The change aims to specify in which variants and categories the medals were obtained at the Pan-American championship.
The correction applies to the original text, which should now be read as follows: the Region's athletes won "one silver medal, in the mixed doubles variant, and four bronze medals, in the men's singles, mixed doubles, men's doubles, and women's doubles variants, in the sport of badminton, in the absolute category, at the XXIX Yonex 2026 Pan American Individual Championships".
This rectification, signed by the Regional Secretary for Tourism, Environment and Culture, António Eduardo de Freitas Jesus, acting as President of the Regional Government, ensures the correct official record of the performance of Madeira's athletes in the international competition.
Renata Isabel Pão Rosário has been appointed on an interim basis to head the Public Procurement Division of the Office of the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries. The appointment takes effect on 2 October 2026.
Rosa Marina de Castro da Silva has been appointed, on a three-year commission of service, director of the Human Resources Management Department at the Madeira Social Security Institute. The appointment takes effect on 12 October 2026.
The Regional Secretary has changed the arrangements for covering the chief of staff during absences or periods of unavailability. Powers will first pass to deputy Marco Paulo Lira Baptista and, if he is unavailable, to José Marco Cabral de Oliveira.
