Monte Palace Tropical Garden Celebrates Regional Day
Monte Palace Tropical Garden, located in the parish of Monte on the beautiful island of Madeira, is pleased to announce a special initiative. On June 30 and July 1, 2025, all residents of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) will be able to enjoy free entry to this magnificent green space in celebration of Regional Day and the Madeira Communities.
With over 70,000 m² of exotic gardens, lakes, artworks, historical tiles, and diverse wildlife, the Tropical Garden is one of the most iconic examples of the intersection of art, nature, culture, and tradition that Madeira has to offer. This event aims not only to honor Madeira’s roots but also to provide a valuable opportunity for the local community to explore and enjoy this unique space.
In addition to visiting the enchanting gardens, residents will also have the chance to explore the Monte Palace Madeira Museum for free. The two-day program will be lively, with live music presented in front of the palace. Concerts will feature local groups such as ‘Contratempo’, Francisco Lopes, Ricardo Dias, Luís Caldeira, Grupo Monte Verde, and Ficha Tripla, who will conclude the musical programming.
Carina Bento, the general director of Monte Palace, expressed that this event is “an experience for all the senses,” highlighting the garden’s international botanical diversity, which includes flamingos, koi fish, and swans, as well as trails and viewpoints that offer stunning views. These elements make the Tropical Garden an ideal destination for family visits.
Residents interested in taking advantage of the free entry must present proof of residency at the garden’s ticket offices, as specified in the communication from the Monte Palace administration. This initiative not only celebrates Madeira’s cultural and natural heritage but also strengthens the sense of regional identity, contributing to the appreciation of one of the island’s most important tourist attractions.
